The Culture of East Java

Many interesting things from art and culture located in the province of East Java. Many distinctive artistry that is characteristic of the culture of the region of East Java.

Province in the eastern part of Java island has a lot of uniqueness, including the culture and customs of East Java. But many of the cultures of East Java received influences from Central Java province. For example the area known as Mataraman. While the art of traditional dance in East Java can be grouped in Middle Javanese style, style Timuran Java, Javanese dance styles Osing, and Madura-style queue. The art of classical dance which originated from East Java province, among others gambyong dance, dance srimpi, dance bondan, and wanderer.
